Nauti Dog Brewing: Beer First, Pups Second

You’ll be howling for more at Nauti dog brewing! Their laser focus on quality means every sip of beer was crafted from start to finish. Luckily you won’t have to sail far for this one

A Nauti Location?

Nauti Dog Brewing can be found in the suburban town of Winterville. Winterville has a very small historic downtown which is where you will find Nauti Dog Brewing. The majority of the town is made up of suburban homes built in recent years but the quaint downtown is charming to say the least.

You may notice you are not far from two of my local favorites: Simply Natural Creamery and Skylight Inn. One thing Eastern NC has figured out is how to make great food!

Parking is both limited and shared. The restaurants that share a building with Nauti Dog Brewing all share a common parking lot to the rear of the structure. We had no issue with parking because we came in a Friday. During a mildly busy time for bars/restaurants on a weekend, I have no doubt this would be packed.

There is some assorted street parking and other walkable establishments in the area if the main parking lot is full. We found the location easy to find but potentially tricky with parking.

Pup Friendly Relaxing

Nauti Dog Brewing has as much space inside as it does outside to relax. We mostly enjoyed the outside on this fading Fall day. No surprise that the interior has plenty of retro vides. Like many other downtown bars in the area like Pitt Street Brewing, the old building is often the majority of the decoration needed for the establishment.

The outdoor space is perfect for lounging with friends and making new ones. Between the massive sun shades, Edison bulbs, heaters and turf grass you will always be able to enjoy the outdoors with a Nauti Brew. We saw quite a few puppies out here and got to meet a nice lab while we were exploring.

The REAL Nauti Brews

We came during peak fall season so we naturally had to try their pumpkin beer. I failed to snap a picture or the name of the beer but it is indeed seasonal. I loved it all the same. Though it is a brewery, they also have various local wines on tap too. I also noticed that our “beertender’s” name was on the bit mirror at the bar. Something about calling her a “beertender” really tickles me. I am not sure if this is something new or if I just need to get out more. Either way, I hope it sticks around the brewer scene.

Like Casita Brewing, Nauti Dog Brewing focuses on offering a smaller selection of house made beer at a high level of quality. The trend of local breweries focused on quality is something I do enjoy but feel like is becoming over played.

Beer First, Pups Second

The name really does say it all. They like dogs here and they like beer. Kaitlyn and I had a great time catching up on some much needed “us” time on the patio while a few dog sat around.

Overall

Nauti Dog Brewing is one of many local breweries based in an old retro commercial building focusing on quality over quantity. The beer was great and so was the atmosphere but nothing too out of the ordinary. Worth checking out if you’re looking for something new to try.
