Pitt Street Brewery is in the heart of the trendy Greenville Arts district. Local professionals brew the beers on tap and are tasty to boot! The rotation is great and they have a good line up of weekly events to keep you coming back. The crisp modern atmosphere is polished at every level.

The Atmosphere

Pitt Street Brewery Company has cultivated a sleek modern vide in the heart of Dickson street Art District. As you walk up you will notice the picturesque all brick exterior with the company name emblazoned on the front. You will walk through their covered outdoor seating area before entering the brewery. The interior boast tall vaulted ceilings with exposed beams. If you go at night you will miss the fact that there are many impressively sized skylights. These can fill the room with natural light on a sunny afternoon and compliment all of the hanging post-modern light fixtures. You walk past some more indoor seat before approaching the bar. Something about the entrance configuration give you get a sense of community and connection with the other people at the brewery. Someone took their time to design the space and it shows.

Our view from the table at Pitt Street

The large tanks to the right of the bar are used to brew their beers and you will see people working in this area during week. The bar staff is very friendly an knowledgeable about the beers they have available. The front door walking path nicely aligns with a large area for stand up orders. We have to say we are a fan of this since it prevents odd lines from forming. If they ever get backed up, it just goes out the door.

The Pitt Street Beer

Are we beer experts? Absolutely not BUT! I can appreciate something tasty as much as the next guy. These beers are solid. As is tradition with all local breweries, they provide amusing names for the creations. We enjoyed a wide variety of beers here and recommend grabbing a flight to try them out if it is your first time. It is worth noting that the food options are minimal. You would be better off asking a friend to watch your beer while you pick up something from one of the near by restaurants.

They do have a rotating set of communities they host here on week days. I love running and I love beer but rarely do I put them together. Other only run when there is beer to be had at the end. If that is you, then be sure to check this place out

What Makes Pitt Street Different?

You may have noticed this is one a several places to grab a beer in the relatively small Dickinson St Arts District. Each one has its own flair and reason to visit. In the case of Pitt Street Brewery, it is a great meeting place with a traditional bar service that works of fostering different communities. Pitt Street offers a sense of grandiose refinement that some of the other locations miss on. The experience is fairly similar to any other craft brewery. It is good place to go but there is nothing that made us feel the need to go out of our way for.

It is worth noting we saw a couple doing work at a table inside with their dog chilling with them. Well behaved dogs are very welcome. We did not see any children around but there is an arcade area in the back of the building that older kids and teens may enjoy. Anything that a smaller kid could break or cause trouble was put away high or gated off. Do beware that other than the side walk there is no space between the outdoor seating area and the street. I can not quite call Pitt St Brewery a family friendly or kid friendly establishment mainly due to the lack of other food/drink options.

Overall

We enjoyed the atmosphere of Pitt Street and will keep it on rotation with the other breweries in the area. It falls victim of being close to several other breweries/bars in the area.
