Wilson’s Eatery is a quality extension of the Lynwood Brewing Concern. Food, drinks and great ambiance makes it ideal for any circumstance. This has become a great meeting place and date spot for us over the years.
Park It At The Dock
Wilson’s Eatery is located on the East side of Raleigh right across the parking lot from the Lynwood Brewery Concern. As we approached for the first time, the area did not seem to fit the what we had read online. Nonetheless, when you make the turn into the parking lot, the trendy Dock 1053 sign jumps off the wall and you start to realize just how fun this is going to be.
The parking is unfortunately limited. The area in the front near the entrance fills up the quickest. You can head down the side of the warehouse-turned-shopping center. Be warned, a fair amount of these spots are reserved for employees of various shops in the complex. There are no real alternatives unless you are willing to get creative or walk a ways. Despite being a converted warehouse area, the area feels both safe and fun.
Is This Place Real?
We tried a few drinks while we were there including one of the mixed drinks. Narrowing it down, we really enjoyed the Rasmine Sour, Czech Yourself and the Barley Wine. We had never really tried a Barely wine before but found it oddly light for how dark it appeared. Kaitlyn really enjoyed it which was a surprise to us both. We ended up getting two orders of fries to munch on while we enjoyed our drinks too. Like the rest of the food, it is really simple but well executed.
Wilson’s Eatery is an extensions of the Dock 1053 complex and its trendy set up. Much of Wilson’s Eatery sports a retro-industrial vibe that fits well with the adjacent shops. I am not certain if all of these different stores were curated to be stylized but I really love it. Lynwood Brewing Concern is on the other side of the neatly decorated walkway that extends off of the outdoor seating area.
The outdoor seating area has a good over hang and is perfect for hanging out with your furry friends. I have brought one of our dogs (Lucy) here before. There are typically some water bowls around the brewery if fido starts to get a little thirsty. The layout in this area reminds me of the Red Oak Lager Haus & Biergarten in some ways but kid friendly.
Simple, Quality American Fare
The menu is a straight forward two-pager focused on classic American fare. I would characterize it as basic with a few twists to make it unique. Kaitlyn got the Chopped Salad and we were both surprised at how large it was. Even though the volume was massive, the kitchen staff maintained a great level of quality. I opted for the the Ell Bell’s Double Cheese Burger. No frills but the basics of a great burger were all there.
All of the beers on tap are from the folks at Lynwood Brewery Concern across the walkway. They keep most of the core rotations on tap at Wilson’s. If you are looking for some more seasonal or small batch options, head over to Lynwood for a slightly more comprehensive menu.
Lynwood’s Favorite Neighbor
Wilson’s Eatery is best known as being the little brother to Lynwood Brewing Concern’s. Most of the amazing ambiance and appeal of this location comes from the adjacent spaces that are shared with Dock 1053. The consistency and quality of the simple menu has brought us back several times. Great spot to relax, go on a date or meet up with friends and family.
Overall
Wilson’s Eatery, is a great spot to grab a bite while sampling brews from the near by Lynwood Brewing Concern. The retro modern vibe fits well overall with esthetic of the Dock 1053 area. Come by and enjoy the beautiful outdoor space with some fries and a crisp fresh brew.
