Hot Dogs and the Strongest Frozen Drinks in NC! Sup Dogs Greenville is an ECU icon that has everything you could want in a college restaurant. With a location in Chapel Hill, they are slowly becoming an icon of the whole NC college scene.

Stone’s Throw To ECU

Sup Dogs Greenville is an Eastern NC original known for their hot dogs and smashed hamburgers. The majority of Greenville is associated with East Carolina University in one way or another but Sup Dogs is literally across the street from some of the largest residence halls on campus. There is a second location of Sup Dogs in Chapel Hill but this is the original location.

You will find Sup Dogs Greenville in the Uptown district of town. As of writing, they are not yet a part of the newly established social district in Uptown. Social districts are a new fad across the state due to a recent law passed at the state level. Sup Dogs is also not far from the Scullery Kitchen and Creamery which has become my go-to for Greenville breakfasts.

Parking is arguably difficult and confusing. There are only a handful of parking spots infront of the restaurnt. You will likely have to use some of the public parking lots or the street parking. I recommend the public parking lots but be careful. There are a significant number of ECU student only parking that will get you towed FAST. Check out the city parking map for the best parking info. The 4th Street Parking Deck and the 5 Points parking lot are usually great options.

College Bar Sheek

If you have been to many college bars, you will feel right at home with Sup Dogs Greenville. The wood clad walls and roof top bar is exactly what you would expect. There is always a college game on the TV’s and cold beer on tap. Sup Dogs has made a name for itself since 2008 as a party staple in the Greenville college town. We have not had the pleasure of checking out the roof top bar nor outside seating yet but it is easy to find picture of wild game day celebration. ECU is known for their parties and college football of which Sup Dogs has become a big part of that.

On a slow night, Sup Dogs is just another restaurant with good americana food and a few unique drinks.

American Classics Plus Some!

Kaitlyn and I came here on a few low budget dates when students were away. When Kaitlyn was at UNC Chapel Hill, she went to their other location a few times also.

We naturally had to try the Sup Swirl. This is one of their custom frozen drinks what draws so many crowds during the hot months. They advertise the drink as the best and strongest frozen drink in NC. I have not tried every frozen drink in NC yet but I can confirm these bad boys are strong. For just 6$, I can see why this is a favorite of the students.

I opted for a Old-Fashioned Burger combo. By no means the largest burger ever for but for $8.99 it was great. I do not have plain burgers too often in my day-to-day so it was nice to indulge a little. Kaitlyn chose a Buffalo Chicken Salad and cleaned the bowl. We agreed the portion sizes are not massive but you feel like you are getting your money’s worth on everything.

ECU’s Favorite Hot Dogs

Sup Dogs Greenville provides economical and convenient food for the ECU students and fellow patrons. This is a perfect place for filling up on a budget while enjoying some local student culture of ECU.

Overall

Sup Dogs Greenville is exactly what you would want from college gameday restaurant. longevity near a college campus is not easy but Sup Dogs has made a name for themselves doing just that.
