Watch blockbusters and old favorites with great beer, any pizza you want and all the funkiness Asheville has to offer. Asheville Pizza and Brewing is fun way to get back to the movies

Do they Show Movies Here?

Asheville Pizza and Brewing is located in Asheville (surprise, surprise). More specifically, they are in north Asheville. The area is fairly typical for the NC mountains. The geography forces most building to be tightly packed around the main road. I found myself comparing some of the trends we see on the outer banks like Swell’s a brewing.

The parking lot is a good size for Asheville but it is also shared by a Brugers Bagels. Most people are not trying to get bagels during peak hours for the Asheville Pizza and Brewing so it is rarely an issue. There are other restaurants in the area if you need parking alternatives. If you do pursue this, I recommend picking something on the same side of street.

Wait, Is There A Theater Here?

The Asheville Pizza and Brewing is the original location of the Asheville Brewing Company. They now have 3 total locations across Asheville. If I had not looked it up on their website, I would have thought this was a one off location.

The ambiance is mainly that of wacky brew pub what are largely common across the city. We came for distinctly different reason. Movies! Kaitlyn had been itching to see the new Avatar movies so I wanted to find a uniquely Ashville to watch it. They have two theaters and you can reserve tickets ahead of time.

The front restaurant takes up what used to be the concession area for the old movie theater. You can order a classic arrangement of americana options up here for dinner. WE admittedly did not spend much time out here.

The movie theater has a full service bar in side it. I do not know why this was so stunning to me but we loved it. This was the first stop in Asheville during an anniversary trip for Kaitlyn and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was approachable, wacky, and just fun. AKA very Asheville.

Full Service Bar/Restaurant In The Theater!

Being fully honest, we did not eat dinner here. The menu does boast a broad and novel assortment of pizza pies with the normal “Make your Own” option. I was a little surprised by the significant taco section the menu.

You can also order anything from the restaurant while you are in the movie theater. I recommend getting here early to get your order it before the movie starts. There is a full table in front of you with a raised edge all the way around.

We decided to stick to the movie mindset since we had dinner plans after the movie. Lucky for us they had 1$ popcorn baskets on Thursday. Worth the money! I started to realize a fun date idea for Ashville Brewing and Pizza Company would be to come see late mattne and then grab dinner out front. You could even order while your movie is finishing up and get it to go if you would rather enjoy your pizza at home. They should run a special or something.

Kaitlyn and I naturally tried some of their house made beer and enjoyed it. She tried the Rocket Girl and I tried The Fire Escape which had a bright jalapeno smell. I was even more surprised by the fact I liked it.

And a Theater Too!

I struggled whether to call this a brewery, a bar, a restaurant or a movie theater since it is really all three. Ultimately, the real wow factor is the combination of movies with the brewery atmosphere. We loved it and it was a great way to kick off our date night.

Overall

Asheville Pizza and Brewing fails to highlight to most novel park of their buisness in their name. Nonetheless we absolutely enjoyed coming. It was a great way to plunge into an anniversary weekend at Asheville and set the tone for an amazing trip. Recommend it!
